According to Njawala, the party will conduct its primary elections physically as it is traditionally done in Malawi.

iverify Malawi verified the information in the claimed UTM press release and determined that the press release is fake and information in it is false. To arrive this verdict, iVerify Malawi interviewed one of the claimed signatories of the purported press release UTM Publicity Secretary Felix Njawala. Njawala described the release as fake. He also told Capital FM Malawi that the party has not released any statement indicating a shift to online voting during the forthcoming party’s primary elections. Njawala emphasised that UTM will conduct its primary elections in the traditional physical manner, similar to the approach used by other political parties.
