Fake notice on rolling out of revised school curricula in Malawi

The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education says it has not issued any public notice as regards to the implementation of new school and college curricula. According to the Ministry, through the Malawi Institute of Education, it is still working on revising the school curriculum, which will roll out once all preparatory activities are completed, but not in September 2025.

Claim

Revised Malawi school curriculum starting in 2025/2026 academic year

Rating Justification

iVerify Malawi verified the notice and determined that it is fake. To arrive at this verdict, iVerify Malawi used information that the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education and the Malawi Institute of Education (MIE) provided. On their Facebook pages, both the Ministry of Education and MIE have said the notice is fake and not coming from them. iVerify Malawi also analysed the information in the notice, including the name of the one who signed it, and found the name ‘Sir Muleva’ questionable for a government and important notice on the school curriculum.
