Malawi Voice’s misleading video post on Nicholas Dausi, DPP

Malawi Voice created a false impression by posting an old video of Mr. Nicholas Dausi speaking to Brian Banda of Times Group during the presentation of 2020 fresh presidential election nomination papers by the then Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) presidential candidate Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika. That time, Mr. Dausi was DPP spokesperson, but he is no longer part of the party and has not made any endorsement as the video portrays.

iVerify Malawi verified the video and determined that it is meant to mislead the viewer. To arrive at this verdict, iVerify Malawi analysed the past videos of Brian Banda and Mr. Nicholas Dausi and found that the video is part of the long interview that the two had in 2020. iVerify Malawi also interviewed Mr. Dausi and he said he has not endorsed anyone for September 16 general election.
