Iverify Malawi verified the information and determined that it is false. To arrive at this verdict, iVerify Malawi interviewed the General Secretary of the CCAP Synod of Livingstonia, Reverend William Tembo, who said it is not true that the Synod stopped Dr.Kabambe from attending the service. Reverend Tembo said the party indeed asked to attend prayer service, but later sent an apology to the Synod leadership through the party vice president for the North, Catherine Mzumara. The apology was connected to Dr. Kabambe’s scheduled whistle-stop campaign rallies. iVerify Malawi also talked to UTM publicity secretary who said the church did not stop Dr. Kabambe from attending the service.

In separate interviews, the CCAP Synod of Livingstonia's General Secretary, Rev. William Tembo, and UTM publicity secretary, Felix Njawala, dismissed the claim that the church stopped Dr. Kabambe from attending the prayers. According to Tembo, Dr. Kabambe indeed planned to attend the prayer service during the Synod's general assembly at Ekwendeni, but later sent an apology as he continued with his whistle-stop tour at Ekwendeni Trading Centre and other areas.
