There is a fake newspaper cover circulating on social media. The cover, which looks like that of one of Malawi's daily newspapers 'The Daily Times' has the big headline, 'DPP Accuses Muli Sponsoring Age Bill'. The cover is fake as the legit cover of The Daily Times of the said date has totally different headlines and appearance.

iVerify Malawi verified the information and determined that it is false. To get to the bottom of it, iVerify Malawi contacted both Peter Kalaya and Noel Mkubwi. Kalaya said he has not issued a statement or said anything as the story claimed. Mkubwi also said he has neither spoken to Kalaya nor written such a story. There is also no such story published or aired on any of Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) platforms.

Norman Chisale was indeed arrested and charged for the murder of Issa Njauju in July 2020 and stories were published that time. iVerify Malawi can also confirm that the forwarded message on WhatsApp on February 17, 2025 is indeed the story that Times Group published on its Facebook page on July 31, 2020. iVerify Malawi concludes that the forwarding of the story now, over 4 years after it got published, and at the time there is no any fresh or new charging of Norman Chisale is using correct information at the wrong time or context and the aim is to mislead the reader.
